Mjekejeke’s ‘Mjakes’ real name is Sipho Manzini born on 14 October 1964 and is currently 59 years old. He was born in uMhlabuyalingana, KwaZulu Natal Province. He is a multi-talented and creative on-screen actor and TV personality who is popular in the South African film industry and well known for playing the role of Mjekejeke on The Queen.
He was raised by her mother Calsinah Manzini together with his sibling Bheki Manzini. Manzini is a loving husband to his wife Nhlanhla Manzini. The have been happily married for 15 years. They have two children namely Nhlosenhle Manzini and Lindokhule Manzini
Sipho was introduced to acting by a teacher while he was still at Star of the Sea High School in uMhlabuyalingana. He got a job at a metal company in Johannesburg after he finished his matric. He worked and managed to gather funds for his studies of Public Administration at Unisa. He then realised his passion for acting and started going to auditions and joined Sibikwa Arts Centre in Benoni to sharpen his acting skills. He is now a board member at this centre.
Sipho Manzini has featured in several television series showing his amazing performance that melts many people’s hearts. He made a remarkable debut in South African series such as Muvhango, Isibaya, Scandal and Rhythm City.
He played a role as a celebrity guest in the second season of a film series titled Karektas. In season 2 of a film titled Broken Vows he appeared playing the role of Mr Zondo. He also debuted as Bra Steve in season 5 of eKasi: Our Stories. in season 2 of a situation comedy film titled Family Bond as a guest star. Again, he played a role of Governor Makhafula in the film called Lockdown.
Sipho also played different roles in several series which includes, Abo Mzala, Ambitions, B & B, Gauteng Maboneng, Judge Thenjiwe Khambule, Loxion Lyric, Majakathata, Remix, Ring of Lies, Rockville, Sinners, Ses’Top La, Skwizas, Sokhulu & Partners, Task Force,The Bantu Tower, The Mayor, The Roa, Z’bonhie and The Queen as Mujekejeke.
