Mabutho’s real name is Thembinkosi Mthembu born on 31 July 1994 and is currently 29 years old. He is a South African actor born in the township of KwaNdengezi, Durban, South Africa and that’s where he spent most of his youthful days.
He had a sister called Nontuthuko Ntuthu who sadly passed away in 2015. He is a proud father of his 4 year beautiful daughter born in 2019 but the mother of the child is unknown.
He studied and obtained a diploma in drama and production studios from the Durban University of Technology in 2017. After years of coming to the city to pursue his acting career, he did a lot of odd jobs such as dancing. He also worked at Checkers and later at Cell C.
After completing his diploma, he moved to City of Gold in Johannesburg to pursue his acting career. During this period he received the minor role ‘Junior’ in the television series The Republic.
He is best known for his roles in the popular series The River as Mabutho in 2018, The Gamechangers, Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Malhlangu, a short film called Ngeculo and he played a major role in a South African series on Showmax which includes Shaka Ilembe, Adulting and Outlaws.
In 2019, he made a recurring role as ‘Shift Manager’ on the MTV Base drama series MTV Shuga Down South 2.
