Early life
Elon Musk was born to a Canadian mother and a South African father. He had a difficult childhood, as his parents divorced when he was nine. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in economics and a degree in physics.

In 2006, he founded SolarCity, a company that develops solar energy products and services.
