Zenande Mfenyana is a South African actress born on 11 October 1985 and is currently 38 years. She is a model, actress and TV personality from Xhosa tribe. She came into the spotlight after her starring role on television broadcasts as Noluntu Memela, the spoilt daughter of media mogul Mawande Memela on the SABC 1 soapie Generations, joining the cast in November 2011 and also on most recent role as Goodness Mabuza on the drama series, The Queen.

Personal Life

Zenande is a Xhosa born in Kagiso, Krugersdorp, South Africa but later then moved to the Eastern Cape in Queenstown. She speaks four languages. Her father is a pastor and she has a young sister by the name Akhe Mfenyana who also featured on the popular drama series, The Queen. Zenande is also known for her outspoken personality.

She has one daughter Ballerina with her baby daddy Tino Chinyani, a famous actor and model but she is not married. The actress posted on social media when she had given birth to a baby girl in the late 2020. She has never publicly shared her marital status and plans.
She is a fan of dreadlocks and she changes the hairstyles to suit her TV roles  and this has also increased her fan base massively.

Education

Zenande completed her matric at Queenstown Girls’ High School. She proceeded to the Tshwane University of Technology. She was also enrolled at the University of Pretoria where she studied and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama.

Career

Mfenyana started off as a model and gained popularity and fan base modelling for top agencies in South Africa until she found love for acting and television-related characters and she progressed into acting.

After obtaining her degree, she started her acting career by taking part in numerous stage and youth productions. She would move around Gauteng Province in several schools and by that time she was able to sustain herself during this period since she was working on quite a number of voice-over work.

She has been active in the TV film industry upon completing her degree since 2006 until present. Mfenyana became popularly known August 2011 when she starred on Mfundi Vundla’s SABC 1’s soap opera Generations. She portrayed  the role of Noluntu Memela until she was fired in August 2014 due to a strike that participated 25 of the cast members including Connie Ferguson and Sophie Ndaba among others.

After leaving Generations, Zenande moved on to play different television roles which include Igazi, Ashes to Ashes and also The Queen. The actress starred on Ferguson Films’ Mzansi Magic’s Xhosa drama series Igazi on season one and two as Babalwa playing the main role. In January 2015, Zenande played a role of Reba on e.tv’s soap opera Ashes to Ashes. In 2017 she featured in All About Love  where she played a role of Mabel.

In the movie Kampterrein she played the role of Grace. She also played a character as Cynthia Vilakazi on MTV Suga (Down South). As of February 2017 until 2022, she starred the main role of Goodness Mabuza on the Ferguson Films’ Mzansi Magic series The Queen together with the producers Shona and Connie Ferguson

Apart from being a model and actress, Zenande Mfenyana is also a philanthropist. She has also been a brand ambassador for top South Africa brands including an online store called Chelline in 2014. She also worked with Geisha in 2016.
