Rapulana Seiphemo is a South African actor, film producer, screenwriter, television Director and lecturer born and raised in Meadowlands, Gauteng, South Africa. Rapulana was born on the 4th of November 1967 and is currently 56 years old. He is primarily known for his role as Tau Mogale in the well known SABC soap opera Generations as well as it’s continuation Generations: The Legacy.

Personal Life

Rapulana has four siblings which comprises of three brothers and a sister. Seiphemo is married to Olga Rubeiro and they wedded in 2003 at Royal Swazi Sun in Ezulwini in Swaziland. They have three children, a daughter named Katlego who is also an actress and two sons whose names are not disclosed.

Education

He studied at Anchor Comprehensive School for his high school in Orlando West in Gauteng. Rapulana enrolled at Texas A&M University in College Station in Brazos County, Texas, USA and pursued Bachelor of Arts in 1991. In 1994 he graduated in Bachelor of Arts in Acting, English, Psychology, Sociology and Theater production.

Career

His career began back in 1989 when he played a character in How to Steal 2 Million, Tsotsi and sports drama Themba. In the same year, he starred in My Children and My Africa. He featured in several South African productions including The Merchant of Venice in 1992, Saturday Night at the Palace in 1993 and The blacks.  Rapulana played a role on the SABC 2 soapie Muvhango as Pheko Mokoena, the long-lost son of Tshepo Mokoena.

Rapulana’s career dates back in 1989. He is well known for his starring roles in four soapies namely, as Godlieb Mofokeng in Isidingo for three years (1998-2001), Tau Mogale in Generations, Pheko Mokoena in Muvhango and as Colonel Hector Sebata in Mzansi Magic Telenovela, The Queen in early 2020.

He featured in Several productions which include, The Merchant of Venice in 1991, Saturday Night at the Place in 1993, The Piano Lesson in 1996 and also The Blacks. When he returned to South Africa in 1995 after completing his BA, he then became a tutor at Fuba Academy before becoming a Wits University Tutor in 1997. Apart from the series, he has also crossed borders to perform in several plays in films.

He has also directed several stage productions including Athol Fugard’s Master Harold and the Boys (at the Market Theatre in 1998) amongst other plays. In 2010, he starred as a judge on reality television series called Class Act on SABC 1. The same year he was a host on a reality game show called Ambush on SABC 1.

From 2003 upto 2015 he started a production company together with his business partner Kenneth Nkosi called Stepping Stone Pictures. They produced a 13 part drama series for SABC 1 called Task Force and quite a number of Mzansi Magic TV films and drama series such as, Paradise Stop, Task Force and Laugh Out Loud(LOL) amongst others. He is also one of the school owners of Fumba Academy for Acting.
